70 Fall Would You Rather Questions

These 70 fall would you rather questions cover the whole season, from the first day of school to the last leaf pile: sweaters, hayrides, cider, pumpkin pie and fall sports. They're clean and simple, so they work in a classroom in September, at a family dinner or on a drive to the orchard. For year-round picks, see the main would you rather questions; for costumes and candy, the Halloween would you rather questions.

  9. Would you rather eat a warm farm-stand pie in the car or save it for home?
  10. Would you rather bring home a small pumpkin for everyone in the family or one giant pumpkin for the porch?

How to Play Would You Rather

Would you rather needs two choices and someone to read them, which makes it easy to play on a hayride, a hike or the first day of class.

  1. One person reads the question out loud, both options.
  2. Everyone picks one. "Both" and "neither" are not allowed.
  3. Each player gives a reason, even a short one.
  4. Take turns reading so every player gets to ask.

Three ways to change it up

  • Leaf pile vote. Outside, rake two small leaf piles. Read a question, and players jump into the pile for their answer.
  • First-week circle. For teachers: in the first weeks of school, read one back-to-school question each morning. Students share their pick and their name, which helps everyone learn both.
  • Hayride round. On a hayride or a walk through the pumpkin patch, each person asks one pumpkin or apple question before the ride ends.

Frequently asked questions

What are good fall would you rather questions?

Good ones are about things people actually do in fall: raking leaves, picking apples, carving pumpkins and starting a new school year. "Eat apple pie or pumpkin pie?" is simple, and families still argue about it every Thanksgiving.

Are these fall questions OK for school?

Yes. Every question is clean, in plain words, with no brands or characters. The back-to-school section was written for the first weeks of class, when students are still getting to know each other.

What are some fall would you rather questions for kids?

Try "hide in a leaf pile and surprise your family or jump into one from a hay bale?" or "scoop out pumpkin goop with your hands or with a big spoon?" Every section on this page works for kids from about 6.

What is the difference between fall and Halloween questions?

The fall list covers the whole season: leaves, weather, apple picking, pumpkin patches and school. The Halloween would you rather questions stick to costumes, candy and friendly spooks.

Can I print these fall questions?

Yes. The Download PDF button makes a free printable of all 70 questions on letter or A4 paper, grouped by section. No sign-up.
